2008 NAFSA Conference Travel Grant
http://www.nafsa.org/annual_conferencePIER is pleased to offer travel grants on a competitive basis for members to participate in NAFSA Conferences. These conferences provide an opportunity for international educators to acquire and exchange information and also provide an excellent way to begin building a personal network of contacts in the field of international education.
Travel Grant Information
PIER awards one grant of $250 for regional conferences, and a grant for national conferences to support registration/travel/lodging expenses.
Eligibility
Applicants must be current members of PIER or become a member prior to the NAFSA Conference. To be a member, please submit a PIER membership application and fee.
Travel Grant Recipient Responsibilities
Individuals accepting the PIER Travel Grant will be required to submit a summary presentation and handouts regarding at least one workshop they attended at the NAFSA Conference. The summary presentation and handouts will be submitted to the PIER Board and shared with the PIER membership within one month of the end of the conference.
The Summary presentation can be submitted via power point, handouts, or overhead projection slides. The presentation should be a minimum of 10 minutes.
Application Procedures and Award Timeline
Please complete the application form and collect the required supporting documents. Submit all required documents to the PIER Chair. Completed applications must be received (not postmarked) by the date indicated on the application. PIER Travel Grant recipients will be notified within 10 days of the application deadline, and awards will be distributed shortly thereafter.
